Authentic Temple Style Puliyodarai

Ingredients:
Rice : 2 cups
Tamarind: 1 big lemon sized ball
Dry red chilly: 12 nos
Coriander seeds: 2 tblspn
Chenna dhal 2 tblspn
Methi (fenugreek seeds): 1 tspn
Cumin seeds: 1tspn
Sesame seeds: 1tspn
Sesame oil: 3 tblspn
Curry leaves: 10 leaves
Mustard seeds: 1/2tspn
Peanuts: 1tblspn
Asetofida: 1/2tspn
Turmeric powder: 1/2tspn
Salt as per taste

Asetofida: 1/2tspn
Turmeric powder: 1/2tspn

Pre preparation:
- Cook the rice and cool it
- Soak the tamarind and extract the concentrated juice
- Dry roast the dry ŕed chilly, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, 1 tblspn chenna dhal, methi seeds and sesame seeds , grind it into fine powder
Method:
- Heat a kadai add the sesame oil and heat it
- One the oil is heated add mustard seeds, Chenna dhal,peanuts and fry it
- Add curry leaves and asetofida
- Add the extracted tamarind juice and add salt, turmeric powder and bring it boil for 15 mins
- Once the mixture is thickened well add the ground powder and mix well and switch off the flame
- Once the mixture is cooled completely, mix it with plain rice and check for seasoning.
