Potato poriyal

Simple home style potato poriyal for a perfect lunch



Preparation time: 20 mins
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Potato: 5 nos
onions: 3 nos
tomatoes: 2 nos
garlic : 5 pods
few curry leaves
mustard: 1/2 tspn
turmeric powder: 1/2 tspn
sambhar powder: 2 tspn
oil: 2 tblspn
salt as per taste
coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:


  • Boil the potatoes, peel and cut into cubes
  • Heat a kadai and add the oil
  • once the oil is heated temper the mustard seeds
  • add finely chopped onions, curry leaves and suate
  • add the garlic, lightly crushed
  • add finely chopped tomatoes
  • add salt as per taste and mix well
  • allow it to cook by covering for 5 to 7 mins
  • add sambhar powder and cook for 5 mins
  • once masala is completly cooked add the potatoes and mix well
  • simmer it for 5 mins and switch of the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves
