One pot Chenna masala

Tasty One pot dish Chenna masala for chapati,poori naan and pulav…..!!!!!



Preparation time: 20 mins
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Kabuli chenna(Chickpeas) :250grms
potato: 2nos
Onion: 3 nos
Green chilies: 2 nos
Tomato: 3 no
Ginger garlic paste: 1 tblspn
Cinnamon: 1 inch  stick
Cumin seeds: ¼ tspn
Kasuri methi: ½ tspn
Oil: 4 tblspn
Red Chilly powder: 2 tblspn
Coriander powder: 1 tblspn
Turmeric powder: ½ tspn
Garam masala: 1 tblspn
Cardamom: 2 nos
Coriander leaves: 5 strands
Salt as required

Pre-preparation:

v  Chop the onion, green chilies and tomato finely
v  Peel the potato and cut into 4 cubes
v  Soak the chenna for minimum of 6 hours or overnight

Preparation:

v  Heat the pressure cooker and add oil.
v  Once the oil  is heated up add the Cinnamon, cumin seeds, Kasuri methi and cardamom
v  Add ginger garlic paste and sauté well
v  Add onion and green chilly and sauté till the onion’s color changes to light brown
v  Add tomato and sauté well
v  Add the red chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt and turmeric powder  with the onion and tomato masala  and sauté till the masala is nicely cooked and  browned.
v  Once the masala is well cooked and oil releases in the sides of the pressure cooker add the soaked chenna(chickpeas) and cubed potatoes and sauté well
v  Add  2 cups of water and bring it to boil
v  Check for seasoning and close the lid of the pressure cooker
v  Switch off the flame with 6 whistles in high flame and 1 whistle in low flame.
v  Let it sit for 10 mins. Once the pressure is released completely open the lid  and add finely chopped coriander leaves


Hot One pot delicious chenna masala  is ready to serve
Best Served for Chapathi,Naan,poori or parotta.
