Poondu Kuzhambu

Super Spicy and delicious Garlic curry for lunch...




Preparation time: 25 mins
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Small onion-  20 nos
Garlic - 15 pods
Tomatoes-  3 nos
Sesame oil- 3 tblspn
Mustard seeds- 1/4 tspn
Cumin seeds- 1/4 tspn
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tspn
Tamarind extract- 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tspn
Sambar powder- 3 tblspn
Salt- 2 tblspn
Curry leaves- 10 leaves

Pre-preparation :

* Soak tamarind in a bowl
* Grind 10 garlic and tomatoes in to a fine paste.

Preparation:

* Heat a heavy bottom Pan, mud pot or iron kadai preferably
* temper the mustard, cumin and fenugreek  seeds by heating the oil
* add curry leaves and small onions, garlic  and saute for 5 mins
* add the ground tomatoes and garlic paste and saute for 5 mins
* once the onions  are well cooked add the turmeric powder,salt and sambar powder and saute for a min
* pour in the tamarind extract and bring it  to a good boil for 10 mins, switch off the flame once the mixture get the right consistency


Super Spicy and delicious Garlic curry is ready to serve

Serve hot  with Rice and pappad.
