Chicken Kurma

Authentic, all time favourite Chicken Kurma

Preparation time: 30 mins
Serves: 4



Ingredients:

Chicken: 1/2 Kg
onions: 3 nos
tomatoes: 2 nos
few curry leaves
ginger garlic paste: 2 tspn
turmeric powder:1/2 tspn
red chilly powder: 2 tspn
coriander powder: 2 tspn
garam masala or curry masala: 1 tspn
cumin powder: 1 tspn
pepper powder: 1/2 tspn
coconut: 1/2 cup
cashew : 10 nos
fennel seeds: 1 tspn
salt as per taste
Oil: 4 tblspn
1 inch cinnamon
3 cloves
1 cardamom
Coriander leaved for garnishing

Method:


  • Heat a pressure cooker and add the oil
  • Add cinnamon,cloves and cardamom
  • Add  finely chopped onions and few curry leaves
  • Saute well until the onions are light brown in color
  • Add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes and saute well
  • Add chicken and mix well
  • Add turmeric powder,salt, red chilly powder, coriander powder,garam masala, cumin powder, pepper powder
  • Grind the coconut cashew and fennel seeds paste into fine and add it in the chicken and mix well
  • Close the lid and allow it for 2 whistles
  • Open the lid once the pressure is completely released, garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves


Authentic, Super delicious Chicken kurma is ready to Serve

Best Served with Rice, idly, dosa and idiyappam.
