Cabbage Poriyal

Simple and lite Cabbage poriyal with minimal ingredients



Preparation time: 15 mins
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Cabbage: 1/2 kg
Onion: 2 nos
green chillies: 3 nos
curry leaves: 10 leaves
cooking oil: 2 tspn
mustard seeds: 1tspn
urad dal: 1 tspn
chenna dal: 1 tspn
coriander leaves: 5 strands
grated coconut: 3 tblspn
turmeric powder(optional) : 1/4 tspn
Salt as per taste

Method:


  • Heat a kadai and add the oil
  • once the oil is heated add the mustard seeds and let it to splatter
  • Add urad dal and chenna dal, fry it until it turns to light brown
  • Add finely chopped onions, split green chilies, curry leaves and saute well
  • Once the onions are slightly turned to brown add the finely chopped cabbage and mix well
  • Add Salt as per taste and turmeric powder and mix well and cover a lid and cook well,add water if required
  • Add grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves once the cabbage is cooked and mix well
Simple yet tasty Cabbage Poriyal is ready to Serve
